FAQ

How much does the procedure cost?

Our price is different for every client and his or her unique needs. When giving a quote, we take into consideration a client’s balding pattern and the amount of coverage needed. Typically, prices can range from $1500 – $4500 USD. We recommend submitting confidential photos of the front, top, and back sides of the balding area, as well as, setting up a free consultation (in-person or virtual) with someone on our team to get a better understanding of what it will cost you.

Will it change color over time?

No. The ink used at Scalp Mora Pigmentation (SMP) is not the same ink used in your typical tattoo shop. The top-quality pigments we select are designed to maintain their true color. There is a selection of black, grey, cool, and warm tones of pigments that we utilize to best match each individual’s needs. While the pigments will slightly lighten over time, they will not discolor.

Will it work on my dark/light skin tone?

YES! SMP is a great solution for men and women of all ages, nationalities, and skin tones who struggle with any type of hair loss. Period.

Does it hurt?

For a majority of our clients that have had the procedure done, the pain is very minimal. Most find the sensation similar to that of a deep scratch and/or minor sting. Due to the size of the microneedles used during the treatment, in combination with minimal skin penetration, SMP does not feel like a typical tattoo. Ointments and other options are available to minimize the discomfort, upon your request, if you find the pain unbearable.

Do I need to shave my head before SMP?

No. Depending on the pattern of baldness and the extent of hair loss, some clients will not need to cut their hair. We will discuss your individual needs with you, as well as guide you in selecting the appropriate hairstyle that suits you the best. If your hair needs to be cut/trimmed, we have the appropriate tools to do so before we begin treatment. Most of our clients have the greatest outcomes when they keep their haircut closest to the skin.

Is SMP permanent/how long does it last?

Because SMP is defined as a tattoo, it is considered a permanent procedure. However, it is important to take the appropriate precautions to make sure it lasts long. Sun damage, de-hydration and lifestyle choices can cause the treatment to fade. A client should probably expect to see some minimal fading in 4-6 years, to which they can come back and receive a swift touch up.

How many treatment sessions will it take?

Scalp Micropigmentation is not a “one and done” treatment. Taking a conservative approach to applying permanent ink into the scalp takes time. For best results, it should take somewhere between 2-4 sessions; each session should be a minimum of 5 days apart.

How long does each session take?

Treatments can range from 1-4 hours all dependent upon the amount of coverage needed. We will be spending a lot of time together.

How can I best prepare myself before the first session?

Drink plenty of water, get some good rest, keep your scalp moisturized, have a solid meal, do not consume too much alcohol 24 hours before treatment, and lastly, relax and trust that Scalp Mora Pigmentation will take care of you.

What is scalp micropigmentation?

Scalp micro pigmentation is a hair follicle replication process that helps people suffering from different types of hair loss. We use our specially designed pigments and unique application to replicate hair follicles in your scalp. This treatment is non-invasive and requires no surgery. The value compared to other alternatives like hair transplants and medications is renowned.

What is the difference between scalp micropigmentation and a regular head tattoo?

Although it may be referred to as a hair tattoo, our inks do not change color after applying as a regular tattoo does. Our needles are inserted into the dermis portion of the skin, which is more controlled and prevents ink from spreading. We also have designed our own single-use hand-crafted needles which are 75% smaller than the needles that are commercially sold.

Can scalp micropigmentation disguise scars?

Yes, we blend the scar with surrounding hair and it becomes almost impossible to notice.

How will I look immediately after the procedure?

There will be redness for 2-10 hours after treatment, it depends usually on your skin type. The Scalp Aesthetic pigments’ initial color will appear darker than the “cured” result, which can take up to 1-2 weeks.

How long does the treatment take?

3-5 hours the first session and usually only 2-3 hours the second session. We offer a guarantee on any fading and a 1-year guarantee on touch-ups as far as hairline alteration or fading.

Will the pigment used fade or change color?

This is not tattoo ink, this is specially formulated ink used for our purpose. There is no risk of color turning blue or green. Long term (10-15 years) it may be necessary to have additional treatment.

Will I be able to do a 0 or 1 buzz, or will I need to blade shave daily to keep things realistic?

The two most popular length suggestions are a 0 or 1 guard but we do often have clients who prefer shave or foil shave their scalp. This is a personal preference and also based on the speed at which your hair grows.

How does payment work?

10% deposit is required at the time of booking and then procedure is paid in full at the first appointment.

Do you frequently have clients travel to your business from other counties such as Orange County, Riverside County, Los Angeles County, and East County?

Yes, we do!
